CrossFit™ was a gift from two friends, intimately involved with the founding. We were welcomed into the family. They changed our lives and now we might be able to change yours.
Contacted by the Founders of CrossFit™ (Coach Greg and Lauren Glassman) in October 2006, Joey was asked if he would like to attend a CrossFit Certification in San Diego. He then attended advanced certifications in Power Lifting, Olympic Lifting, Nutrition, and Kid’s Training. Joey moved quickly through the community to become one of its most recognizable figures opening his own small affiliate (CrossFitCHAOS) in October 2007 just South of Louisville, KY in Brooks, KY. He has seen, first hand, the rapid progress one makes in Endurance, Strength, Flexibility, Stamina, Power, Speed, Coordination, Accuracy, Agility, and Balance with the CrossFit Protocols. A program unrivaled in delivering results and now implemented throughout the U.S Special Operations Command, The United States Marine Corps, and countless military law enforcement and 1st Responder Units around the world.
In August 2008, Coach Glassman asked Joey if he and Andrea (his wife) would consider moving to Prescott to run the “Home Town” CrossFit Affiliate. With a resounding ‘YES’, Joey went into negotiations with the owner, of Freedom Fitness on Highway 69 in Prescott. Freedom CrossFit opened on October 6th after he left the active duty military on October 1st. Averaging over 5 new members a month, THE CAGE became a model success story thanks to the Freedom Fitness staff and clients with participants ranging from 12-85 years old.
On June 1st, 2009, Joey and Andrea burst out of THE CAGE opened in their current location in Prescott Valley and renamed it CrossFitCHAOS. Dubbed “THE CHAOS COMPOUND” after their original affiliate, the new box is 2400 sqft and purpose-built for CrossFit™.
